REALITY CHECK, NOT EVERYBODY FEELS WARM AND FUZZY ON MOTHER’S OR FATHER’S DAY!
At my last Super Bowl party, I met a woman that told me that her chiropractor practiced a holistic chiropractic technique called Neuro Emotional Technique (NET). She was very enthusiastic about the treatment, and how it had changed her life. Of course, it was by no coincidence that there was a teaching the seminar and Certification Course on the subject in Orlando the very next weekend. I had been debating attending the training for some time. It was a 3-day seminar, a long time for me to be away from the practice. Well, because there is no such thing as coincidence, off I went.
EMOTIONS CAN BLOCK RECOVERY FROM DISEASE
For years of practice, I have always known there was an emotional component to pain that sometimes blocked recovery. Some studies show that as much as 70% of diseases are caused by emotional stress. My question has been how do I address this? Why am I taking money from the 70% that can never really recover because of emotional stressors?
Even though I have seen the science and had some past experiences that have demonstrated to me how powerful thoughts are in creating disease, I am still amazed as to how people’s life stories and experiences create pain and suffering. The most common stressor so far has been trauma relating to not feeling unwanted at birth, early abandonment by a parent and underage parent, or god forbid all 3. The effects of this type of trauma are as dangerous to your health as having the BRACA gene (a genetic condition that has been demonstrated to cause breast cancer).
Emotions are Physiologically Based
While emotions used to be thought of as residing in your head. Science has now found that emotions physically exist and can better be described as information substances. They are comprised of neuropeptides, hormones, and other “information molecules” that travel throughout the entire body including our DNA (1). Now that we have new information on what emotions are, the method used by holistic physicians of dealing with emotional stressors should also change.
Childhood and Other traumas Can Create Disease Later in Life
Early trauma can create stressors that often persist into adulthood, and often throughout a lifetime. If you were conceived in the 40s, 50s or 60s, this was a time when Family Planning was in its infancy. A teenage pregnancy most often ruined a life. Women went to special places to have children that they gave away for adoption. Many people have been walking around with the trauma of not being wanted, or unable to be provided for since birth. Many people have lived with feelings of dread, instability, anger, fear, sadness, hopelessness and obsessions every day of life ever since they can remember. It’s like living with dark glasses on and never seeing the light. If you have consistently had certain feelings since birth, to you they will seem normal.
Your Holistic Chiropractor Can Help!
Your body is dying to give up your story and release the emotional stressors that are negatively impacting your life, health, and wellness. Using the principals of Acupuncture, Homeopathy and Muscle Testing, stressors can be found quickly. Once the story starts coming out people often think we need to discuss it. Obviously, I am not a trained therapist, my job is simply to connect you to the story so that we can release it while giving a light adjustment. Often, the chiropractor will need to add homeopathic remedies to assist in releasing the stressor.
