According to Dr. Robert Block the former president of the American Academy of Pediatrics, “Adverse childhood experiences are the single greatest unaddressed public health threat facing our nation today”. For years, many chiropractic physicians have found stress a major factor in most disease processes. Many Doctors that use Neuro Emotional Technique have been observing this relationship for years and concluded that found that the worse the childhood trauma, the worse the physical suffering.
RESEARCH SHOWS DIRECT RELATIONSHIP
Dr. Nadine Burke has produced an awesome Ted Talk explaining the adverse childhood experiences study by Dr. Vince Felitti at Kaiser and Dr. Bob Ananda at the CDC. They studied 17,500 adults and their history of exposure to what they called adverse childhood experiences (ACES). Those include physical or emotional neglect or abuse, parental mental illness, substance dependence, incarceration, parental separation, divorce or domestic violence. For every yes you would get a point on your ACE score. The study found a direct relationship between childhood trauma and health outcomes.
Childhood Trauma is Very Common
As many as 67% of the population had at least 1 ACE and 12.6% had 4 or more ACES. Middle-Class Whites have just as many ACES other groups studied.
The Higher The ACES The Worse Health Outcomes
Furthermore, a person with an ACE score of 4 or more, had a risk of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease that was two and a half times that of someone with an ACE score of 0, for Hepatitis it was two and a half times, for depression, it was four and a half times. A person with an ACE score of 4 or more was 12 times more likely to commit suicide.
It Gets Worse
A person with an ACE score of 7 or more had triple the lifetime chance of lung cancer and three and a half times the chance of ischemic heart disease, the number one killer in the United States of America.”
What is Your Score?
You should consider checking your score. If you are suffering from cancer, pain, hypertension, depression, or just want to improve your health; finding out your risk is can only help. Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) can reverse the effects of years of chronic stress. Most people feel immediate pain relief. This modality can determine if stressors are a factor in your health condition. Moreover, one study showed NET made immediate changes in the brain that are affected by stress. Many patients and even doctors are often surprised at the changes in health gages such as urine samples can improve dramatically overnight.
EMOTIONS ARE NOT JUST IN YOUR HEAD
Emotions don’t just exist in your brain. Science now more correctly calls emotions Information Substance. Emotions now should be considered more like a physical substance which is a combination of chemicals and hormones that attaches itself to DNA and makes changes to DNA replication. They can are able to interrupt normal cell division. This can affect your health and your thoughts. This is how past emotions and trauma can cloud your present. Emotions are normal. Maladaptation to any past event leaves you experiencing a part of that event every day for years and even decades.
THE EFFECTS OF STRESS ON ADULTS MAY BE WORSE
This type of study has not been done on Adults. There is an assumption that stress causes more damage to children. Yet we see the effects on adults more obviously. For example, a observed a friend who’s wife left him age 20 years in 2. I think he died about 8 years after his wife left him at 60. I heard the owner of a large chain of restaurants got his IRS bill and died within the hour. I once went to a wedding and the father of the bride had died an hour before the wedding, he did not like the groom.
